Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is seeking a Consultant/Consulting Firm to conduct a detailed analysis of the extreme rainfall events that impacted its jurisdiction on July 16 and August 17, 2024. The study will examine meteorological and local factors contributing to these storm events, with a focus on both urban and riverine flooding. Key areas of interest include flood-prone regions such as Little Etobicoke Creek and the Lower Don, where flooding exceeded the 1-in-100-year return period. The analysis should incorporate an Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) assessment to evaluate rainfall characteristics and provide insights into best practices for maintaining IDF curves. Additionally, the project will involve microclimate assessments to enhance understanding of localized climate impacts.
