Description: |
The project focuses to complete bank protection works to stabilize an outer bank posing risk to the maintenance trail along Etobicoke Creek. The site is located on the right bank of the river, across from the storm water management pond in Allan Kerbel Park. The section of trail within Allan Kerbel Park has scouring present on the right bank, which measures approximately 15 meters in length and 4 meters in height. The scour is threatening the parkland above and continued erosion could pose risk to the maintenance trail that runs between Etobicoke Creek and the storm water management pond. Along the face of the scour there are exposed roots and leaning trees, as well as minor woody debris buildup throughout the study area. There are currently no protection works in place to provide bank protection, toe protection and trail protection at the scour location. |
